Developer Warhorse Studios has announced the release date for their upcoming medieval RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

The game, set during the time of the Holy Roman Empire, is a non-linear story that will have you travel a massive, realistic open world. The game's story has you, the player, seeking revenge for the death of your parents.  A new E3 2017 trailer was also released, promoting the game.

Boasting a realistic, historically accurate world of medieval Bohemia, Kingdom Come is giving the player total freedom through their quests, allowing them to fight, steal, seduce, or persuade their way through the entire game. Players can also unlock perks to improve their abilities in and out of combat and use dozens of equipment options to suit their own play style.

Developer Warhorse Studios began work on Kingdom Come back in January of 2014 when it was first announced as a Kickstarter title. The kickstarter raised £1,106,371 and secured Deep Silver as a publisher for a wide-spread release.

The will be released next year, on February 18th, 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Quick Take

Kingdom Come looks real interesting to me, mostly because of its historical accuracy. The game reminds me of Mount and Blade, but with better-looking graphics and a more detailed story, which is a good thing to me. To say the least, the concept is very intriguing.

It is also good to see a smaller studio like Warhorse get the big release treatment, especially with Deep Silver at the helm for the release. After a nearly four-year wait for it for kickstarter backers, they are perhaps the most excited of all for the title.

Currently, Kingdom Come is in beta access for kickstarter backers, and players can wishlist it on Steam right now.
