Do you like to spend your spare time dying a whole bunch? If so, we've got good news. Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive are now taking closed beta applications for their upcoming sci-fi Soulslike The Surge 2. The beta is only on PC, so if you're a console player you're sadly out of luck.

Interested parties should go fill out this form. Doing so will mean you're in with a chance of participating in the closed beta for The Surge 2. Only 50 players will be selected, so the competition is pretty fierce. If you're selected then Deck13 will contact you by email. If you don't get an email, that sadly means you haven't been selected. Still, at least you won't get that moment of excitement followed by crushing disappointment, eh?

There are a few requirements to take part in the closed beta for The Surge 2. Applicants must be over 18 years of age. You'll need to have a PC and a Steam account. Finally, you'll need to be able to speak either English or French so you can give feedback to the game's dev team. Naturally, since this is a closed beta, you'll need to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) as part of the application process. The form doesn't take very long, so if you're interested you've got nothing to lose by filling it in. Best of luck!

The Surge 2 is the upcoming sequel to Deck13's 2017 action RPG The Surge. The sequel's official website promises the same hardcore combat and limb-targeting system the first game had, plus more weapons, implants, and drones with which to experiment. Players are shot down by a mysterious storm over Jericho City and must explore the city, unraveling its secrets and surviving against brutal enemies. The Surge 2 is currently targeting a 2019 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. While you wait for more news on The Surge 2, check out TechRaptor's review of the first game.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
