During the KFG E3 2019 showcase this Monday, we saw a brief trailer of an indie game called An/Round, developed by Overdrive Games. According to the developer's itch.io page, An/Round is an android who must complete a simulation set in its mind. However, an unstable force strives to stop it. This is a "physics-defying platformer," utilizing a retro style and unique level design. Looks a bit like Thomas Was Alone with a twist, if you're into that sort of thing. Kinda Funny also shared the new trailer on Twitter, as you can see below.
You can pick up An/Round on itch.io for £6.99 or more, which makes about $8.87. The official trailer for the Kinda Funny E3 2019 Showcase can be seen below in all its minimalistic, abstract glory.
Quick Take
This is one of those games that is so abstract and minimalistic that it makes it very hard to write about, so let's point possible players to another of Overdrive Games' titles instead, also available on the developer's itch.io page. The Second Shadow is a 2D platformer that portrays the parallel stories of a man dealing with dementia, and with the remaining piece of his mind that is attempting to rebuild a crucial memory. As the player, you must embark on a journey through his past, collect pieces of his memory, and discover the life of a man crippled with fear. I'm actually more interested in this title than in An/Around, it just looks more like something that you can relate to than an abstract platformer. And besides all that, The Second Shadow is free to download. So try it out on itch.io.
