If you wanted to just run around in an open world as an old fogey causing mayhem, Just Die Already has been out for a few weeks answering your prayers. If however, you were looking for more, the folks at Curve Digital and DoubleMoose are happy to oblige with a free Just Die Already update adding PVP options.
These old fogeys (old folks if you're feeling nice) are able to compete in four new arenas where the goals vary depending on the selection. The developers are highlighting a 'new game' called Farm which is a cat and mouse style game where one player plays as a farm protecting his apples with a shotgun, while others try to steal the tempting red fruit. Beyond Farm modes include Deathmatch (and team version), as well as King of the Hill, with other options like stock limits or time limits to customize the battle to your will.
Just Die Already PVP is cross-play enabled, meaning that you'll be able to use your PC character to shoot at Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch foes. The different modes can have up to four players in them competing to be the chief boomer.
This isn't the end of the road for Just Die Already, as the game is just as reticent to die as its characters. Instead, the developer lists this as the first of several Just Die Already updates planned for the rest of 2021.
The Just Die Already PVP update is out now for free for owners of the game on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (and 5 via backwards compatibility), and Xbox One (and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compact).
What do you think of Just Die Already adding PVP to its mayhem mix? Do you think 4 player multiplayer pvp is too few in this era? Let us know in the comments below!
