Due to some stores in some territories breaking the release date of the upcoming tie-a-soldier-to-a-flying-plane simulator Just Cause 3, developer Avalanche Studios will release the day one patch within the next 24 hours. In a blog post on the official site, the developer had this to say:
We’re aware of the fact that in some territories, Just Cause 3 is available ahead of its official release, which means many of you are enjoying Rico’s latest adventure early. While we’re glad you’re getting familiar with Medici before Tuesday, this does mean that you’re playing the unpatched version of the game, and a host of fixes and improvements will be available within the next 24 hours. Please keep an eye out for the update on PS4, Xbox One and PC this weekend!
The patch fixes a bunch of issues, like several graphical optimizations as well as some AI improvements that is supposed to make main antagonist Di Ravello's militia a more capable fighting force.
If you're among those unlucky enough to not live close to a shop that's breaking the street date, you fortunately won't have to wait for very long to jump in. Just Cause 3's actual street date is only a few more days away, with the official release on Tuesday, December 1 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and systems running Windows.
This seems like the best thing for them to do. You can't really stop people from getting the game once a store has broken the street date, and their quick response to it by supplying a patch is a great way to score some extra goodwill for when the game is available everywhere. Shame I don't have one of those shops near me.
