Developer Gaming Factory has announced that upcoming simcade racer JDM: Japanese Drift Master has been delayed by a couple of months in order to ensure "quality".
The game, which was originally scheduled to launch later this month, will now be arriving on May 21st. Gaming Factory says its "guiding principle" is "quality", and that giving JDM: Japanese Drift Master some extra time for development will help to ensure the level of quality players expect.
Gaming Factory goes on to say that JDM's "every drift, every car, [and] every road" have been "carefully crafted to bring the most immersive open-world drifting experience possible". Let's hope that still holds true when the game arrives.

If you're wondering what JDM: Japanese Drift Master is, it's a simcade racer, which effectively means it'll offer arcade-style accessibility coupled with some elements of sim-esque realism.
The game is set in the fictional Japanese prefecture of Guntama, which will also serve as JDM's open world, offering "over 250 km in main roads" and "the most famous tourist landmarks".
With regards to the latter, it sounds as though Gaming Factory is essentially throwing a bunch of Japan-wide landmarks into Guntama, Dark Souls 3-style, so you can expect a recreation of Himeji Castle, as well as a Guntama version of the iconic Daikoku Parking Area.
Not only will JDM: Japanese Drift Master offer an open world to race around, but it'll also feature a story that revolves around racing hopeful Touma. He's a Polish driver who wants to make his mark on the local street scene, but he'll have to face opposition from "fierce rivals" to do so.
Of course, JDM will also feature plenty of licensed cars from brands like Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru, as well as the ability to upgrade your vehicle to add all kinds of new features, including "that over-the-top bōsōzoku exhaust".
JDM: Japanese Drift Master launches for PC via Steam on May 21st. There's no word of any console ports yet.
