It Takes Two movie and TV adaptations are in the works -- and the film adaptation is going to be handled by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the same people who brought Sonic the Hedgehog to the Silver Screen.
If you love co-op games, you'll definitely want to check out It Takes Two. The game was first announced in mid-2020 and arrived less than a year later, racking up over a million sales in a month. It seems that that popularity hasn't gone unnoticed by Hollywood, and now a bidding war is underway to bring it to television and movie theaters.
What We Know About the It Takes Two Movie and TV Adaptations
News of the It Takes Two movie and TV adaptations is still fairly early. That said, the little bit of information we have learned is very promising.
As Variety reports (via Reddit), a bidding war is currently underway behind the scenes to secure the rights to adapt Hazelight Studios' multiplatform co-op game to television and film. That aside, Sonic the Hedgehog movie writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller are attached to the movie adaptation of the game.
It Takes Two tells the tale of Cody and May, a couple who is having a difficult time in their relationship. A wish from their daughter turns the pair into dolls, sending them on a journey to explore a magical world throughout their house and backyard.
We can't say for sure what the It Takes Two movie or TV show will look like in the end, but the game already feels like a cinematic experience out of the box and it would probably translate well to movies and television. Still, the game itself is well worth playing, especially with someone you love; you can buy It Takes Two for PC and consoles via its official website for $39.99 or your regional equivalent. You can also get the game at 50% off for PC via Steam until February 3, 2022, as part of the Steam Lunar New Year Sale.
