Welsh FMV adventure developer Wales Interactive has announced its latest project, an "eccentric live-action mystery" called The Isle Tide Hotel. It's launching for PC and consoles, as well as mobile devices, in the second quarter of 2023.

If you like the look of Wales Interactive's other titles like Maid of Sker and Mia and the Dragon Princess, then you'll likely be interested in The Isle Tide Hotel as well. You play as a father who arrives at the titular hotel to save his daughter from an esoteric cult, which is looking to sacrifice her for some unknown purpose.

This being a Wales Interactive game, you can expect lots of well-acted and well-shot FMV adventure shenanigans, as well as branching pathways and lots of endings to chase down. There are, however, a few more tricks than you might expect up The Isle Tide Hotel's sleeve.

Looks like a perfectly normal hotel.

For one thing, The Isle Tide Hotel will feature side quests, which the developers promise will "have dedicated endings" of their own. You'll also find real-time personality trackers, as well as "cult association" trackers, so you'll be able to see how close you are to the eldritch truth.

As well as these features, you can also expect choices with consequences, seven endings to chase, and "ruthless" narrative puzzles that carry the distinct possibility of failure. There's also an in-game chapter skip menu, but Wales Interactive says you'll "have to earn it first". Sounds a little sinister, no?

The cast for The Isle Tide Hotel includes alumni from Gentleman JackGame of ThronesPennyworth, and The Witcher, among others. Director and writer Harry Chadwick cites Knives Out and Agatha Christie as major influences, so this looks like one to enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake with. The Isle Tide Hotel arrives on PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android, next year.
