IS Defense, a turret shooter where you defend Europe from an invading army of ISIS soldiers, will be coming to Xbox One according to a news post on the game's Steam Community page.

Set in the year 2020, IS Defense is a game where you must fend off oncoming waves of fanatic enemy soldiers. You can switch between a machine gun to kill infantry and a rocket launcher to destroy armored vehicles. Players fight until they are eventually overwhelmed by the invading soldiers. The game has three levels in total including an Italian beach and a European shipping yard. Originally announced in February 2016, IS Defense had a successful Steam Greenlight campaign.  You can see our review of the game here.

Developer Destructive Creations has stated that the game will be coming to Xbox One "this year". No specific date has been set.

In addition to the Xbox One announcement, the developer is running a contest for the game with a $600 prize pool. The contest will be running from August 29 until September 26th and will be a score attack. The three highest-scoring players of each week will win prizes such as a Steam key for the game Hatred or replica NATO military gear. Winners of the contest will be announced on the game's official Facebook page.

Some criticism was levied against the developer based on the game's theme as well as their alleged association with certain Facebook groups perceived to be right-wing or neo-nazi. Both Polygon and Motherboard carried articles critical of the game as well as some of the developer's statements. Destructive Creations CEO Jaroslaw Zielinski stated to Polygon that any assertions that the company is linked with neo-nazi groups is without merit.

If you're interested in purchasing IS Defense you can grab it on Steam for $5.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think of IS Defense as a game? Would you purchase the title for Xbox One? Do you think the accusations against the developer have any merit? Let us know in the comments below!
