King Art Games has announced the first major Iron Harvest DLC pack for the alternate history RTS. Titled Operation Eagle, the DLC will add a brand new faction, a new campaign, more maps, and plenty more. It'll be available as a standalone purchase on Steam, too.

What can we expect from the new Iron Harvest Operation Eagle DLC?

Announced today, Iron Harvest's new Operation Eagle DLC will launch in late May and will bring with it the new Usonia Faction, which has more than 20 new units to get to grips with. A brand new Usonia campaign will focus on the new faction, telling the alternate history story of an American Union that stayed out of the Great War and became a solitary powerhouse. You can check out a brand new trailer for Operation Eagle below.

Alongside the new faction, you can also look forward to three new playable heroes, as well as all factions getting new flying units to try out. Every faction in the game is also getting new structures and anti-air defences to accommodate the new flight systems. There are also new multiplayer maps, new playable allies from a rather enticing "yet-to-be-revealed secret faction", and more, so be sure to check it out if you love Iron Harvest.

When is Operation Eagle landing?

You'll be able to grab the Operation Eagle DLC for Iron Harvest when it lands on May 27th. It'll be available via GOG, Epic, and Steam. Rather uniquely, it's coming to Steam as a standalone version, so you can play through the campaign without owning the original Iron Harvest. Don't fret, though - you can also buy the DLC if you picked up Iron Harvest on Steam, of course. If you grab the standalone version, you can play all of the content in that version as well as missions 1-5 of the Polania campaign. Admirably, the devs are also saying you can play the new multiplayer maps if another player owns the DLC, even if you don't own it yourself.

To celebrate, Iron Harvest will be free to play starting later today and ending on May 3rd, giving you the perfect chance to check it out. You can grab Iron Harvest from Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store. It's also worth checking out the original Operation Eagle announcement post, which contains some important info about Season 4 of Iron Harvest, as well as a changelog for a new update that adds some balance tweaks.
