Wasteland 30th Anniversary

InXile Entertainment, led by Interplay founder and veteran Brian Fargo, just announced the Wasteland 30th Anniversary Bundle to celebrate the original launch of Wasteland, the original RPG that later became the spiritual predecessor of the Fallout series. The bundle will include items from all the series history, along with two new packs of content: a soundtrack by Mark Morgan, the original composer of Fallout, Fallout 2Wasteland 2, and the composer for the upcoming Wasteland 3.

Apart from all this, InXile also announced the remaster of the original Wasteland, currently in pre-production by Krome Studios, who are also currently partnered with inXile on a similar remaster of The Bard’s Tale Trilogy. The remaster will feature updated graphics (which maintain the spirit of the original pixel art), run natively in current operating systems and at all current resolutions, and offer other quality of life features.  The expected completion date is early 2019.

The full bundle will include:

Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic Wasteland – 30th Anniversary Edition remaster (due early 2019) Wasteland 2: Director's Cut

Digital Extras: Wasteland 3 Music Track "Frozen Waste" Wasteland 2 Novella: All Bad Things Wasteland 2 Novella: The Earth Transformed Ghost Book One Wasteland 2 Novella: Death Machines Ghost Book Two Wasteland 2 Concept Art Book Wasteland 2 Choir Songs EP Wasteland 2 Original Soundtrack

Available at $44.99, it will contain all the above items, with the 30th Anniversary Edition yet to be released. There is currently a 10% discount on Steam for all buyers, but no other discounts for those who already own both Wasteland 1 - The Original Classic and/or Wasteland 2: Director's Cut.

“The original Wasteland is one of the games that I am most proud of and certainly one of the most influential,” Brian Fargo says. “Wasteland 2 helped launch an era of crowdfunding as a viable platform for game development and let us focus on making the kinds of games that we love to make and that our players want. With Wasteland 3, we’re continuing to develop this world we started in 1988 and we’re excited to provide the first taste of what we have in store for players.”

Wasteland was first released in 1988, achieving great acclaim, including Computer Gaming World’s Adventure Game of the Year. Wasteland 2 was released in 2014, winning accolades such as PC World’s Game of the Year. Wasteland 3 was successfully crowdfunded in 2016 and is set to release on Q4 2019.
