A recent press release from team behind the International Games Week in Berlin has announced that the festival will take place between April 21st to the 26th of this year. The festival has been expanded to include even more exciting gaming related events following the success of last year's fair.

The German capital will play host to 10 events across the week in Europe's largest gaming related festival which more than 10,000 people are expected to attend. Michael Liebe, head of the week, stated that he was particularly excited to introduce three new events missing from last year's Games week including CGC Bartalk, hoping to integrate the eSports scene into the programme, Apps World Germany, which hopes to host networking for the emerging app development scene, and Womanize! which hopes to help female talent with their careers in technology, digital business and media.

These three new events are a clear reaction to the changing nature of the industry over the past year as eSports become more mainstream, mobile gaming becomes one of the most lucrative gaming markets, and the inclusion of women in tech is a hot button issue which everyone is beginning to discuss. Personally, this female games journalist hopes that Womanize! aims to address the exclusion of certain female developers and journalists as well as female created games from the mainstream media, and give a wide variety of women in tech equal opportunities.

The week also includes Quo Vadis a developers event which expects speeches from developers of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Mass Effect and Alan Wake amongst others.  The festival will also play host to the German game awards which will allocate awards to games in 14 categories including an Audience award.

The A MAZE event hopes to bring light to the now huge independent games scene focusing on video games as an art form which will also present awards including the Most Amazing Game Award and the WTF! Award. GamesFest the heart of the festival will also be taking place in the world's first computer games' museum.

More information registration and tickets for the events can be found on their website.
