The development team behind Injustice 2 has just released a new Red Hood DLC trailer. The first character to be released from Fighter Pack #1, Red Hood will be available in June for owners of the Ultimate and Digital Deluxe Editions of the game, and will also be made available for purchase separately.
Red Hood aka Jason Todd, was the second Robin to partner with Batman in the comics after Dick Grayson took up the Nightwing mantle. A loose canon and drastically different in personality from his predecessor Grayson, Todd was tragically killed by the Joker in the critically acclaimed storyline Death in the Family. He was later resurrected and took up the vigilante, anti-hero mantle of Red Hood. Since his reappearance in the DC universe, he has continued to fight crime and clash with the more noble figures, including his foster father Batman. Since the team’s inception at the start of the New 52 in 2011, he’s also been the leader of Red Hood and the Outlaws. Todd's appearance in Injustice 2 will be his first in the universe as he has yet to make an appearance in the Injustice prequel or sequel comics series.
The trailer shows clips of Red Hood fighting Damian Wayne as Robin, as well as both Batman and the Joker. His fighting style appears to be heavily reliant on his signature guns, though he also uses grenades and time bombs against his opponents and there’s no shortage of tension in the few sparse lines of dialogue between him and Damian.
Other characters slated to be released as part of Fighter Pack #1 include fellow Outlaw Starfire and Mortal Kombat’s Sub-zero. No release date has been given for either of these characters yet, and there’s no word on whether fellow Outlaw Arsenal will be joining his teammates in the Injustice 2 lineup.
