UPDATE: We received a statement from 505 Games regarding the early Switch release of Indivisible. The statement doesn't address why the developer didn't know about the situation; it simply states Indivisible "has launched in North America and Europe" and that 505 will be avoiding a physical release for now thanks to concerns over the supply chain. That said, they will be printing a small run for crowdfunding supporters, who can expect to receive a copy in 1-2 months with the delay due to the current COVID-19 situation. Additionally, they will be releasing an update soon, although they didn't say that it will include co-op, new game plus or similar features, but will improve some aspects. You can read the publisher's response to the situation on the game's official website. Original story follows below.

For some time now, fans of RPG Indivisible have been clamoring for a release on the Switch. Well, it seems they may have gotten their wish, albeit in a monkey's paw kind of way. Indivisible has been stealth-released on the Switch and it seems even developer Lab Zero Games is surprised.

This news comes via project lead Mike Zaimont's Twitter account. Zaimont tweeted that "that thing everyone wanted" has happened; Indivisible is out now on Switch in North America via the Nintendo eShop. According to Zaimont, publisher 505 Games gave no warning to the devs that they would be releasing the game today. Zaimont says he found out "because people on Twitter sent us congratulations".

What else could go wrong with Indivisible's Switch release?

The build that has been released on the eShop also appears to be the wrong one. Zaimont says it doesn't have co-op, New Game Plus, or anything else that's recently been added to the game. He says 505 Games gave no release date announcement and did "no lead-up PR at all". To top it all off, the eShop artwork for Indivisible is showing the wrong image. Zaimont says this doesn't reflect the quality standards Lab Zero holds and that it wasn't him or his studio that made this decision. Sarcastically, he tops off his Twitter thread with "but hey, it's 20% off! :^)".

Twitter user @BoofWoofGoof asked Zaimont whether this would impact those who'd backed Indivisible on Indiegogo. One of the campaign's pledge rewards was a code for Indivisible on "the platform of your choice", which naturally included the Switch. Zaimont responded by saying he "honestly [doesn't] know" what 505 Games plans to do regarding Indiegogo pledge goals, nor does he know when Switch codes or a physical release of the game are planned. We'll bring you more on this as soon as we get it.

Have you been waiting for Indivisible on Switch? Did you back it hoping for a Switch code as a pledge reward? Let us know in the comments below!
