In Shiro Unlimited's Opportunity, You Play as the Famous NASA Rover

Shiro Unlimited, the publishing label of Shiro Games, has announced their first game: Opportunity, an atmospheric narrative title where you play as NASA's famous Opportunity rover. In Shiro Unlimited's Opportunity, you'll play through the story of NASA's rover on its mission to Mars. Shiro Games has developed titles such as Evoland, Evoland 2, and Northgard in the past, which is a good sign in that Opportunity should at least turn out to be a good game. Only time will tell, though.

Opportunity is inspired by the day that Earth lost contact with the rover in its quest to search for water or signs of life. Originally, the mission was supposed to last 90 days, but it ended up lasting 15 years. Such a quest is lonely and atmospheric, which is what players will hopefully experience during the course of the game.

“The story of Opportunity is truly inspiring, which made this choice for our first publishing project an easy one,” said Adrien Briatta, Head of Publishing, Shiro Unlimited. “The team at DIMANCHE CORP. wanted to capture the wonder of exploring a foreign planet and retell the real missions of this famous rover through its own eyes, figuratively of course.”

Want to see what Shiro Unlimited's Opportunity is all about? Check it out below:

Players will explore the rocky terrain of the Red Planet while overcoming hazards that would derail your quest. You'll also have to scavenge new modules and components that are found around Mars to keep going. While doing so, you'll also learn about the real-life Opportunity's lonely journey.

The game is available to wishlist on Steam, where it will launch sometime in 2022. If you're interested in Shiro Unlimited's Opportunity, be sure to stay tuned to TechRaptor.

A very unflattering picture of my tired face.
