Today Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios provided a full reveal and new details about the upcoming magic FPS Immortals of Aveum.
The game, which was teased a few months ago, will be part of the EA Originals brand like the recently-released Wild Hearts, and will release on July 20, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App.
The PC version is priced at $59.99, while the console versions will be priced at $69.99 USD. A Deluxe Edition is priced at $69.99 on PC and $79.99 on consoles.
Pre-orders are already available and come with the Purified Arclight sigil as a bonus. The Deluxe Edition includes a unique sigil, three rings, two bracers, and three totems.
The game adds to its first-person-shooter gameplay an extensive cinematic campaign playing the role of Jak, a man who joins an elite order of battlemages and has to fight against hordes of enemies while mastering different colors of magic.
Here's how Electronic Arts officially describes the game:
Having grown up powerless and destitute, Jak is what’s known as an Unforeseen – someone who unexpectedly manifests magical abilities later in life. With his newfound potential, Jak is recruited by General Kirkan to join the Order of the Immortals and is reluctantly thrust into mankind’s endless war for the control of magic. With powerful magic-wielders and legions of soldiers on both sides of the Everwar, Jak and his elite order of Immortals must uncover the mysteries of Aveum's troubled past, if there's any hope for saving its future. Immortals of Aveum’s cinematic campaign is brought to life by an incredibly talented cast of AAA celebrities like Darren Barnet (“Never Have I Ever,” “Road House,” “Gran Turismo”) as Jak, and Gina Torres ("Suits," "Pearson," "Firefly") as General Kirkan.
