This latest Ubisoft Forward started with a bang, or at least a reminder that a previously announced title is on the way. A brand new trailer showing off footage for the now (sadly more generically named) Immortals Fenyx Rising.
You play as Fenyx, a new winged demigod, on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse. Only by mastering the legendary powers of the gods, overcoming heroic trials and confronting powerful mythological beasts, will Fenyx be able to take on Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology.
An exhilarating experience for all heroes at heart, the game features dynamic action gameplay, fast-paced aerial and melee combat and stories inspired by Greek mythology. Players will face off against mythological creatures like the Cyclops, Minotaur and Medusa. With the help of the Sword of Achilles, Bow of Odysseus and Wings of Daidalos, players will launch themselves up into the air to deal with the immensity of these creatures. In addition to combat, players’ logic and strategy will be challenged by world puzzles, from small scale individual puzzles all the way up to the epic Vaults of Tartaros.
Fenyx is also a hero for players of all walks of life. In Immortals Fenyx Rising, you can customize Fenyx to be whatever you want them to be. Man or woman? Olive-skinned or tanned? It's all up to you.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising, was originally announced under the title Gods and Monsters until a legal dispute happened with Monster Energy (no, really) happened, and I am glad to see this legal snag hasn't slowed down the developers in the slightest in making their open-world Greek mythology inspired action title.
An action game we won't have to wait long to check out. Immortals Fenyx Rising is coming out December 3 2020.
