Earlier today, Nintendo of America's official Twitter account let slip that last month's Hyrule Warriors - the fantastic crossover between The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors - will be receiving an update to allow for Amiibo functionality.

While Link is the only Amiibo currently confirmed to have functionality with the game, it's worth noting that an Amiibo of Zelda - another playable character in Hyrule Warriors - will be released in the figurine line's second wave.

The announcement also refrained from going into any further details, though one of Amiibo's greatest selling points is their ability to save a small amount of data to the figure. Super Smash Bros. will be using this to create an AI-controlled fighter that will learn and grow in strength with each use, so perhaps we'll see something similar in Hyrule Warriors. Or maybe something entirely different!

Either way, be sure to check back soon for more information as it is released.
