Hyper Bounce Blast

Flump Studios, creator of Horizon Shift, have announced a brand new game today called Hyper Bounce Blast. Flump Studios is a small UK based indie studio comprised of two programmers who made Horizon Shift last May to extremely positive reactions on Steam

Hyper Bounce Blast will be releasing for PC on the 27th of May and aims to bring retro SHMUP action with various platforming elements. In any classic SCHMUP you find yourself moving left and right taking out all enemies that come your way but in Hyper Bounce Blast you are able to jump allowing you to hop on enemies to destroy them and propel yourself higher. The higher you're able to bounce the higher the multiplier you gain.

Super Bounce Blast - Gameplay

You will encounter blue enemies that can be bounced on, red enemies that will shoot at you just as much as you shoot at then, and bonus green enemies to really reach for that high score. Other features of this game include invulnerability while bouncing, six different game modes including Arcade, Time Rush, and Tournament. There will also be full controller integration so you can experience this twin stick shooter at its finest. In a post released on the official Flump Studios website it's explained that they believe that this style of game play is their own Geometry Wars/Mario crossover.

If you wish to follow the progress of the game then you can get more information via the Flump Studios official website, Youtube, or their twitter page. If you want to see more gameplay of Hyper Bounce Blast there are a variety of clips on their YouTube including various boss fights.

What do you think of this SCHMUP platformer hybrid? Do you think that it would all be a good challenge, or too much happening on screen to be able to handle it? Let us know in the comments below.
