A Project Genesis reveal will be taking place later today on the game's Steam page. This upcoming hybrid first-person shooter/space combat game from 8 Circuit Studios has been in development for some time, and now we'll be able to get our first look at the game in today's Project Genesis stream.
If you've missed this title, Project Genesis is an interesting game that was revealed earlier this year. It combines space combat with first-person shooter mechanics. The idea isn't new, but this particular mashup of genres is, in my opinion, woefully underserved.

A press release from 8 Circuit Studios states that we're going to be seeing a Project Genesis reveal on the game's Steam page later today. This Project Genesis stream is going to give us a look at a private playtest session including the developers.
Notably, 8 Circuit Studios has a strong community focus on the path of development. Players who participate in helping along the game's development will be rewarded with in-game cosmetic badges:
- Test Pilots: People who identify and help to resolve in-game bugs, typically through participating in closed playtests.
- Ambassadors: Community members who help engage in social media by answering questions and generally being helpful about the game.
- Pioneers: Players who create media and other original content and share it on social media platforms.
- Ace Pilots: High-caliber players who have a deep understanding of competitive gameplay and can help balance gameplay mechanics with a competitive mindset.
Players who would like to get in on closed playtests can up their chances by heading on over to the game's official website and subscribing to their newsletter. You may also want to sign up for their community on Discord.
