Despite having to share the interest of gamers with the launch of the Nintendo Switch, it seems like Horizon Zero Dawn has still managed to come out on top. The game by Dutch development studio Guerilla Games has defied all expectations and is now the best launch of a new IP on the PlayStation 4 in the United Kingdom. This news comes from a NeoGAF post by Bruno MB, a user who routinely posts chart figures based on statistics provided by GfK Chart:
A bumper week for gaming is led by ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ which tops the chart as Sony’s biggest ever PS4 launch of a new IP (ahead of No Man’s Sky). Released on Wednesday ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ is also the biggest launch of the year so far and Sony’s biggest launch since ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’. Ubisoft’s ‘For Honor’ falls from No1 to No5, having to make way for both Horizon Zero Dawn and new Nintendo Switch titles. That's quite the achievement from the Killzone developer, who have been working with Sony as a first-party developer for the PlayStation 3 and 4.
Here's the rest of the top 10 best selling games in the last week:
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Grand Theft Auto V
- 1-2 Switch
- For Honor
- Fifa 17
- Super Bomberman R
- Rocket League
- Sniper Elite 4
- Battlefield 1
What do you think of this week's chart? Did you grab Horizon Zero Dawn as well or have you treated yourself to a Nintendo Switch with Zelda?
