Horizon Call of the Mountain is getting close to its release, and the developers are celebrating with the reveal of one of its music tracks.
The music, titled simply "Ryas' Theme," is dedicated to the new protagonist of the game, it was composed by Alistair Kerley. It comes to celebrate Horizon Call of the Mountain "going gold." If you're not familiar with video game industry lingo, this means that development is complete and the code (in the case of physical games) is ready to be printed on the disk. Further tweaks can be made via day one patch, of course, so this usually doesn't mean that there is no more work to be done.
You can check the music out below.
Horizon Call of the Mountain will release on February 22 exclusively for PS5, and it will herald the release of the new PlayStation VR2 headset.
The game tells the story of Ryas, a disgraced former soldier who sets out to unravel a new mystery surrounding the machines to redeem himself and save his people. While Aloy won't be the protagonist of this game, players will still be able to meet her, this time around from a new perspective.
The game, co-developed by Guerrilla Games and Firesprite Games, which has been recently acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment after a stint working on Star Citizen, promises engaging storytelling, new characters to meet alongside familiar faces, and brand new first-person gameplay that should serve to highlight the capabilities of the PS VR2. It'll certainly be interesting to see how popular it will be compared to its predecessors that did not require the purchase of a virtual reality headset.
