Developer and publisher HoYoverse has revealed the Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5 release date, and the turn-based gacha RPG's latest content drop officially arrives next month, bringing new characters and more with it.
Following on from the (roughly) monthly release cadence that saw Version 2.4 arrive in late July and Version 2.3 before it launch in mid-June, Version 2.5 will arrive on September 10th across PC, PS5, and mobile devices.
Naturally, it's bringing a continuation of the ongoing Honkai: Star Rail story, and this time, you'll be uncovering "long-buried secrets within the Shackling Prison", bringing what HoYoverse calls a "trailblazing silkpunk saga" to a climax.
This new Version also brings the Wardance event, which gives you the chance to net a Tuskpir pet, as well as the opportunity to explore other exciting events hosted by the Xianzhou.
As ever, new five-star characters are also joining the fray in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5. The first of these is Feixiao, a warrior trained in "all forms of martial arts" who can deal heavy damage with her gunblades or her axe.
She's joined by Lingsha, a summoner who's able to call up the incense beast Fuyuan to assist her in combat. She can deal damage, heal allies, and debuff enemies as well, so she's a valuable ally on the battlefield.
A new four-star character, Moze, is also making his debut in Version 2.5. This update will see reruns for Robin, Kafka, and Black Swan in the first half of the cycle, while Topaz will make a return in the second half.
You can download and play Honkai: Star Rail for free right now on PC, PS5, and mobile devices. Version 2.5, also known as "Flying Aureus Shot to Lupine Rue" (don't ask), arrives on September 10th across all platforms. Stay tuned for more.
