The first Hokko Life update is already in the works and it's going to add a cool new feature to the game: you'll be able to play the Hokko Life Farming Update next month.
Hokko Life is a brand-new game developed by Wonderscope and published by Team17; it's so new, in fact, that it just launched earlier today! This game aims to deliver an experience akin to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with a dash of Stardew Valley mixed in, and we now know that its next major update will focus on farming.
How the Hokko Life Farming Update Could Work
There's good news and bad news about the Hokko Life Farming Update. The bad news is that we don't know much about what will be in the update in terms of content. The good news, however, is that farming mechanics are kind of already in the game at launch.
When you think of "farming," you probably think of planting food, watering it, and waiting for a bit for it to grow. These mechanics are already in Hokko Life; you can plant seeds for grass, flowers, trees, and other plants, although all of these various bits of greenery don't need to be watered.
Since the basic mechanics are already there, the Hokko Life Farming Update could just add in some new "food" items and call it done. However, Wonderscope also has an opportunity to add in a requirement to water and/or fertilize plants. The introduction of new food items could also eventually lead to eating food for buffs and a cooking system as seen in games such as Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons: Freinds of Mineral Town.
When is the Hokko Life Farming Update Release Date?
The Hokko Life Farming Update release date has not yet been announced, but we do have a release window — the first Hokko Life update will be arriving sometime in July 2021.
