The Hogwarts Legacy PC specs have been announced, and as you'd expect, you're going to need a fairly beefy rig if you want to run this game on Ultra settings in 4K. In addition, it's been confirmed that the upcoming Wizarding World RPG will feature Denuvo DRM on PC.

Over on Twitter, Portkey Games and Avalanche Studios revealed the minimum and recommended specs for a PC to run Hogwarts Legacy, as well as the requirements for playing the game on Ultra and in 4K. Minimum specs are surprisingly permissive, although you will need at least 16GB of RAM in your machine, which is hefty.

If you want Hogwarts Legacy to look pretty on your PC, you'll have to have a pretty beefy rig.

If you're a PC gamer, you'll already know that the experience isn't like consoles, where you'll have a couple of fairly restrictive options in terms of what you want graphics and performance to look like. Hogwarts Legacy will run differently depending on your PC's components, so with that in mind, here's a rundown of the specs you'll need to run Hogwarts Legacy at various levels.

Minimum specs (720p, 30fps, Low settings)

  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5-6600 (3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (3.2 GHz)
  • 16GB RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB GPU
  • DirectX 12
  • 85GB storage space (either HDD or SSD, SSD preferred)

Recommended specs (1080p, 60fps, High settings)

  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz)
  • 16GB RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A770
  • DirectX 12
  • 85GB storage space (SSD)

Ultra specs (1440p, 60fps, Ultra settings)

  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel Core i7-10700K (3.80 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (3.80 GHz)
  • 32GB RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  • DirectX 12
  • 85GB storage space (SSD)

Ultra 4K specs (4K, 60fps, Ultra settings)

  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel Core i7-10700K (3.80 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (3.80 GHz)
  • 32GB RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
  • DirectX 12
  • 85GB storage space (SSD)

Hogwarts Legacy will use Denuvo DRM as well

There's also some bad news if you're not a fan of Denuvo DRM: it'll be integrated into Hogwarts Legacy. Per the Steam page, the game will feature Denuvo's anti-tampering technology, which has proven controversial among gamers. Denuvo's bad reputation has even led to some developers blaming it for poor performance in games on PC and removing it due to negative player feedback. Of course, it remains to be seen whether this will be the case in Hogwarts Legacy.

Curiously, the Hogwarts Legacy PC release date also appears to have been updated for some reason. On the game's Steam page, the release date reads "Coming soon", rather than listing the actual release date, which lands next month. The developers haven't announced any kind of delay for Hogwarts Legacy, so this might have been done in error. We'll have to wait and see if any further announcements are forthcoming.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 10th (assuming it doesn't get delayed on PC, of course). It's also heading to PS4 and Xbox One in April, with a Nintendo Switch version currently set to arrive in July. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more news on the game.
