It's the most wonderful time of the year. I am, of course, referring to the Hitman 3 winter roadmap, which IO Interactive has just released. It contains plenty of festive mayhem, as you'd expect, including new Elusive Targets and the chance to earn some winter-themed goodies for your playthroughs.
The first drop from the Hitman 3 roadmap starts today, with two new Holiday Hoarders unlocks for the Paris map. The map itself has been given a festive makeover, and you've got the chance to unlock two new goodies: Lil' Flashy, a flashbang-emitting robot, and an explosive present. Of course, there's also a Santa suit for 47, because who better to spread holiday cheer?
Next week, a new golden assault rifle, the Shashka A33 Gold, will arrive, and you'll be able to earn it by completing the two Elusive Target Arcade Contracts being added in early December. The following week, a new batch of community Contracts is being added to Hitman 3, once again giving you the chance to experience the boundless creativity of Hitman 3 players.
Two new missions are being added on December 22nd and December 30th, respectively. The first, The Icon, has you taking down a washed-up movie star, while The Bad Boy tasks you with killing a "former musician-turned-gangster" who's in hiding. Both of these missions take place in Sapienza, which has been transformed into a movie set.
Of course, there's much more to come in January. The ICA 19 Iceballer is the very definition of cool...literally since it's made of ice. Somehow, 47 can wield it without his hands freezing. What a cool customer. The last Elusive Target for this year is The Forger, who's making a return for 10 days from January 6th.
The second community contract batch drops on January 12th, and finally, on January 26th, the long-awaited Freelancer roguelike mode makes its debut. This mode adds a new twist to classic Hitman gameplay, tasking you with taking down a crime syndicate by systematically working your way through its members. If you fail to take down a higher-ranked target, you'll have to start from the bottom of the ladder again.
You can read more about the Hitman 3 winter roadmap over on the official IO Interactive blog. If you're yet to check the game out, it's currently available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and a cloud version is also available on Nintendo Switch.
