Hitman 3 keeps on chugging, although for Hitman fans the news revealed today isn't the greatest. This is because Hitman 3: Freelancer, which has been billed as "the next evolution of Hitman" has been delayed because IO Interactive wants to "tighten the mode up and improve several elements" for the overall gameplay experience.
With the success of Hitman 3, IO Interactive has found itself in a position where they're able to delay the mode to polish it up and make it as "close to our ambitions as possible." Fair enough, but right now that means fans won't be able to enjoy the highly-anticipated mode until the second half of 2022.
What's the latest Hitman 3 Roadmap?
Here's some good news for Hitman fans: there's not one roadmap that's been announced, but two. Well, not exactly, but it's close enough. Basically, there's a May 2022 roadmap where players know exactly what's coming starting today and until the end of the month. There's a new featured contract out today called Space Conflict, and two reactivated elusive targets coming right after. The Fugitive will be in the game from May 6th - May 16th while the Bookkeeper will be added back in from May 13 - May 23. On May 12th there's the Food Fight Featured Contract, along with the Rubber Duck Featured Contract on May 19th. There's also a brand new update coming on May 24th (which will have PC raytracing), and will be accompanied by the Berlin Egg Hunt and the Elusive Target Arcade on the same day. Last but not least there's also The Iconoclast, an exclusive target that will be available from May 26th - June 6th.
That's not all that's been announced either, because the Rocky map that was announced back in January 2022 has now been scheduled for a July 2022 release. The map takes place before the events of Hitman 3 and will help fill in a few gaps in the World of Assassination storyline.
