Heroes of the Storm Getting One Lane Map

If you've played Blizzard Entertainment's MOBA (or any other MOBA) Heroes of the Storm for a decent amount of time, you've probably stumbled across the idea of ARAM (All Random, All Mid). This is a player-made game mode where players neglect 2 of the 3 lanes on a map and just go for team fights in the middle lane. Blizzard is now preparing to add a new map to the maps available when you make custom game modes, and it's exactly this.

Heroes of the Storm Lost Vern

This new map, called Lost Cavern, does away with all those pesky things found in the game, like objectives and multiple lanes. This allows players to rush to the center lane to meet enemy teams head on in a short and sweet tug of war. This one lane will periodically spawn regeneration orbs to give you a quick heal mid-fight, and has multiple patches of high grass you can hide in to get the drop on your unsuspecting opponents. The map seems tailor-made for experimentation and allows heroes to focus on and practice at getting better at the game's team fights without having to worry about capturing the periodic objectives you see in the game's other maps. Hearthstones won't be available either, and while you do have a base it won't really have much in the way of defenses. This is as close to a deathmatch as the game will get until the arena update releases.

This map will be added to the map pool available in the custom game setup, and won't be added to the quick match or hero league game modes. To play it all you need to do is set up a custom match lobby and send your friends a link that will add them to the custom game's lobby.

While the map won't be immediately available, it will be coming with the next big content update. This update will also presumably add in the new Zerg hero Dehaka to the game.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
