It's recently been discovered that the bouncy busty brawling Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni has made some minor changes in the English localisation

This came as a surprise to some, as the UK-based localiser PQube had ensured fans that there would be no alterations made to the game during its transition from East to West.

The edits concern the female casts' ages, which are now completely missing from their profiles.

For example, as you can see in the comparison above, a character that was originally 16 years old is now without any age at all. (Thanks to the Twitter user PortableNiche for the screenshot.)

We contacted PQube for a statement on the matter and have now heard back from PR spokesperson Peter Nathaniel Fury.

That is correct, we did choose to not define the characters ages in the western version of Valkyrie Drive. I’m sure I don’t need to explain to you why keeping it as it was would be a very bad thing.

Valkyrie Drive is otherwise content complete from the Japanese version, which we are very proud of, but this particular point is basically the difference between releasing it in the west and the game never seeing the light of day outside Japan.

Peter explains that, without this small change, it would not be possible to release the game overseas, perhaps referring to various countries' rating procedures or even laws. After all, the title is extremely sexual in nature and we're talking about characters that are said to be under the age of consent in many parts of the Western world.

These types of change to ages are very common.  The exact same alterations have been made to producer Kenichiro Takaki's other fan service-filled action series, Senran Kagura. Also, like Senran Kagura, we can confirm that no other changes have been made to the game's content.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is available right now in Europe, with its US release only a few more days away. Those in North America will be able to pick the title up for PlayStation Vita October 11th.
