It's always reassuring to know when gaming purchases can wind up contributing to relevant, worthwhile causes. One such way first-person shooter fans can do this is through the Call of Duty Endowment, which is a non-profit corporation formed by Activision Blizzard that assists veterans in finding well-paying, respectable work. Whether through promotional items at GameStop, 2011's Call of Duty XP event, or eSports marathons, all proceeds have gone toward the organization's purposes, which was able to help 11,615 veterans in 2016 with full-time job placement. A simpler means to raise donations has been through DLC with Personalization Packs. Modern Warfare Remastered is the latest in this line of content with the C.O.D.E Brass personalization pack.
Black Ops III's had the C.O.D.E. Warrior pack that single-handedly loaded $1.7 million in the charitable chamber and Infinite Warfare joined in with the C.O.D.E Courage pack in December to honor the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. It includes a snazzy, patriotic camo, weapon cosmetic, emblem, reticle, and calling card. With Modern Warfare Remastered, you can expect a camo, emblem, reticle, and calling card featuring Captain Price with a recommended price tag of $4.99. Raven Software Studio Head Brian Raffel spoke on behalf of his team's joy that Modern Warfare Remastered will be able to bolster the Endowment's endeavors.
Raven is honored to partner with the Endowment. We believe this new pack offers a great way for our players to support veterans while taking their in-game experience to a new level.Since 2009, the pace at which veterans have found jobs through the corporation has only increased. With a projected rate of having 25,000 veterans by 2018, this modest goal was surpassed last year. Now the objective is to have 50,000 veterans at work by 2019.
If you consider nabbing the pack for Modern Warfare Remastered (and perhaps the one for Infinite Warfare), you can download it through the PlayStation Network or Xbox Marketplace starting today.
