Hello Games is already planning on the future of No Man's Sky after their massive multiplayer update, No Man's Sky Next, hits tomorrow.

In a new blog post on the No Man's Sky website, lead developer Sean Murray thanks his team for persevering through the good and bad times in developing the game, including the aftermath of the games tumultuous launch in 2016, and subsequent silence towards the community following the game's release.

"Whilst I couldn’t be prouder of the team, I personally made mistakes," reflects Murray. "I could talk all day about things I personally would change. Certainly one regret is that the intensity and drama of launch left no room for communication with the community. We decided instead to focus on development rather than words. Following Foundation, Pathfinder and Atlas Rises, we really want to include you, the community, more."

Hello Games has included the No Man's Sky community in their ongoing ARG Waking Titan over the past year. The community itself has crafted its own lore in the in-game Euclid galaxy, carving out regions of influence between various fan-made factions. Murray is hoping to lean on this further, announcing the creation of the Galactic Atlas.

The Galactic Atlas is a website by Hello Games that will contain major points of interest found in the Euclid Galaxy, all of which were nominated by a fan survey, which players can still participate in after the launch of Next. In addition to the Galactic Atlas, Hello Games will begin their new "community season" for players. Sometime after the release of Next, the studio will begin weekly content and community events, free for all players, to participate in.

With No Man's Sky Next, the latest update for Hello Game's No Man's Sky, coming tomorrow, CEO Sean Murray has once again found himself in the spotlight. He jokingly replied to a post by website PC gamer over the hype of No Man's Sky is generating two years after launch.

No Man's Sky Next is scheduled to launch tomorrow and will be a free update for the PS4 and PC. The game will also be launching tomorrow for the Xbox One for the first time.
