Ready to dive back into hell? Twin-stick shooter Helldivers has announced they're working on a large update for the game, to the point where it has been renamed Helldivers: Dive Harder!. Additionally, all versions of the game, including the PlayStation 3 and Vita version, will be getting the update.

The biggest addition in the update is the Proving Grounds, which will serve as repeatable randomized missions. The levels will take place inside of an abandoned city, and is broken into three parts. Each proving ground mission has a challenge, which is what the actual mission is, a modifier, which is a randomized modifier that will change up how the mission plays, and a condition, which will affect what items you can bring with you. One of the examples includes a mission where you have to rescue civilians during an orbital strike while changing weapons every time you reload your gun. Every galactic campaign will see three new proving ground missions, so there are always new levels to run through. Do good enough, and you can get rewarded with a special cape even.

There's more updates than just the Proving Grounds. The loadout system has been improved, adding in a button to randomize the loadout or a way to save your favorite loadouts and reuse them easily. There are also "tweaks and balancing changes" that are based on community feedback and will be announced when the patch notes for Helldivers: Dive Harder! get released.

Helldivers is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. The Dive Harder update will launch on all four platforms on October 25th, 2019 and will be completely free.

How do you feel about this update? Still playing Helldiver? Surprised anyone is bothering to update a PlayStation 3 game? Or, even weirder, a PlayStation Vita game? Let us know in the comments below!
