Hearthstone Reaches 70 Million Players Milestone, Gives Everyone Free Packs

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that their collectible card game Hearthstone has surpassed the 70 million player milestone as of yesterday. This news comes from a blog post on the official Hearthstone blog.

It’s a good thing that there’s always room for one more, because the tavern has now welcomed over 70 Million players! On top of that, with Journey to Un'Goro, Hearthstone had more players playing together on the same day—around the whole world—than at any point in its history!
Hearthstone only came out 3 years ago, but already the game centered around playing cards based on World of Warcraft characters and items has managed to cement itself as one of the biggest digital card games in the world. The game has also gone on to inspire a myriad of eSports tournaments and has been a favorite for streamers on Twitch since its release.

To celebrate this occasion, Blizzard Entertainment is currently giving away three free card packs for the game's latest expansion Journey to Un'Goro, which adds a slew of new cards based on mobs and NPC's found in the Un'Goro Crater zone in World of Warcraft. All you need to do to get the 3 free card is log into your account. This offer also extends to players who are just now jumping into the game, so you don't need to have a pre-existing account for the card packs to be given to you.

Quick Take

I'm really glad Hearthstone is still going strong! While I don't play the game as much as I used to, it's still a very fun game to play casually from time to time. Do keep in mind that the game can be pretty daunting if you haven't logged into it since the last few expansions!

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
