Haunted PS1

Up from 17 games from last year, this year for Haunted PS1 Demo Disc there are 25 spooky games to peruse for your horror pleasure. It's not an actual demo disc for a PS1, but the games have been made trying to evoke that era of gaming from the late 90's. There's over 4GB of gaming goodness is available, so let's check them out, shall we?

What games are available for this year's Haunted PS1 Demo Disc?

The links don't actually lead directly to the games, but to the creators who made them. The actual link is available here, and is free to download for Windows. I haven't tried it--horror isn't really my thing--but of the names that really stick out are That Which Gave Chase, Agony of a Dying MMO, and The Drowning Machine. Those names are pretty cool, like this trailer that I've embedded directly below:

Along with the games, there's a Demo Disc Manual Booklet so you can pretend like it's the old days when games had manuals, a DIY Demo Disc Kit if you want to make your own Demo Disc, and a Press Kit.

Quick Take

This is a really cool idea. There's clearly been a lot of effort put into this, and it's truly a fascinating thing to see the indie community come together to make free games for a yearly event. And it's not like they're all just copied bootleg games either, they're all different games that you can try out. Make sure you do try them out if horror is your thing and support this so we'll see even more cool freebies in 2022!

What do you think of this news? Did you play last year's Demo Disc? Are you going to play this year's? Let us know in the comments!
