Following the success of Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros. Games seems poised to double down on the Harry Potter and Wizarding World franchise, and it just announced Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
The game is described as a "fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game" featuring Quidditch which has been in development for several years at Unbroken Studios and will be released under the Portkey Games label.
A release date is not been set, but we already know that it'll come for PC and consoles. Yet, which consoles, in particular, the game will launch for has not been announced.
Players will be able to customize their own Wizard or Witch and play with or against their friends online. If you're wondering how the game relates to the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, we get an official statement as part of a FAQ published by Warner Bros.
While Portkey Games are not direct adaptations of the books and films, the games are firmly rooted in the magical universe of the Wizarding World. While remaining true to J.K. Rowling’s original vision, Portkey game developers chart new territory by creating fresh ways for fans to immerse themselves in the Wizarding World.
If you want to try the game early, you can sign up for a playtest on the official website. A Discord server has also been made available in case you're looking to learn more about the game.
If you're interested in Hogwarts Legacy, it's already available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while gamers on PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait until May 5 following a recent delay. Those who want to play on Nintendo Switch will have to wait the longest, with the release date on the hybrid console set for July 25, 2023.
