We now have a Hard West 2 release date. The cowboy turn-based tactics game is headed to PC via GOG and Steam next month, and it's bringing plenty of spooky, weird strategy action with it, so saddle up your steed and get ready to start thinkin' for your life, sheriff.
When is the Hard West 2 release date?
After the Hard West 2 beta went live on Steam back in May, you're probably hankering to play the full game if you managed to try it out. Well, you won't have to wait much longer to do so. Developer Ice Code and publisher Good Shepherd have announced that the Hard West 2 release date is August 4th, when the game will mosey on into the bustling townships of GOG and Steam. As you might expect from a sequel, Hard West 2 will pack in a whole bunch of new content and mechanics, but it'll largely be the same rootin' tootin' tactical action you know and love from the original game.
What is Hard West 2?
Hard West 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Hard West, a Wild West-themed tactical strategy game released all the way back in 2015. Originally, publishing duties were being handled by the original game's developer CreativeForge, but now that duty falls to the Devolver Digital-owned Good Shepherd Games (a subsidiary of which, Artificer, was actually formed by several ex-CreativeForge employees). Much like Weird West, Hard West 2 will combine Wild West theming with the occult, asking players to take down no-good bandits and horrific demons alike. Along the way, you'll maintain and upgrade your posse, take part in fast-paced tactical battling, and make a series of brutal decisions that will shape your experience of Hard West 2's wilderness.
Hard West 2 is coming to PC via GOG and Steam on August 4th. There's no word yet on any kind of console release, although the original Hard West did eventually make its way to Nintendo Switch, so stay tuned for more info on this one.
