Microsoft Studios Corporate VP Phil Spencer confirmed via twitter that there will be Halo news gracing E3 this coming year.
In a tweet to a fan Spencer states:
@MarvelousJoJo Halo news will be coming at E3. 343i has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone.Though we have all known that there will be some sort of continuance in the franchise we are unsure if the E3 announcement will surround a potential anniversary edition or another installment.
There have been many differentiating stories this year regarding the upcoming journey for Halo as Master Chief’s voice actor Steve Downes initially said in an interview with Gamezone to not expect anything on Halo 5 until 2015. He then went on to state “what you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”
Eventually he retracted his statement and affirmed that there was some confusion and his words were taken out of context. Whether or not Downes was actually misinterpreted or received a swift slap on the wrist from Microsoft is still unknown.
It seems as though E3 will allow us the opportunity to distinguish rumor from truth and witness the “great plan” 343i has in place for the much beloved Halo franchise.
