Yesterday saw Xbox's Gamescom presentation come and go, and while there were a few interesting announcements and deep dives into games like Forza Horizon 5 and Microsoft Flight Simulator there was a big supersoldier sized hole in the presentation. Where is Halo Infinite? Titles like Age of Empires IV were teased to be making an appearance at today's Gamescom Opening Night, but it looks like a piece of Halo news will also be revealed, the Halo Infinite Release Date.
Halo Infinite was originally slated to be an Xbox Series X|S launch title when the console released last year, but after backlack from the E3 campaign showcase 343 Industries instead chose to delay the title. Proof of how late this decision to delay was evident enough with so much marketing going into the title and that Xbox Series X|S boxes still had references to Halo Infinite and Master Chief on the box. A store page for Halo Infinite has also been around for some time, showing a placeholder date of December 31st.
Word first started buzzing this morning when Italian website Aggiornamenti Lumia posted a screenshot of a store page specifically for "Halo Infinite (Campaign)" showing the December 8th release date. While Aggiomamenti Lumia didn't post the link to the page for others to see but their claim was immediately corroborated by Tom Warren of The Verge.
As we've known the Halo Infinite that will be releasing this year will only contain the Campaign, and will not include any campaign co-op or the creative Forge mode. This also isn't the only leaks that have been coming out of Halo Infinite. From the campaign and audio clips that were included in the technical test, and customization items like multiplayer Spartan helmets a lot has been making its way onto the internet.
Chances are though we'll hear this Halo Infinite Release Date and even more this afternoon at the Gamescom Opening Show so be sure to keep an eye on TechRaptor as we cover all of the big announcements made.
