Take-Two has recommitted to a fall 2025 release window for upcoming tentpole title Grand Theft Auto 6, thus (at least temporarily) putting paid to rumors that the game might be delayed.

Commenting on the studio's third-quarter financial results, CEO Strauss Zelnick says the 2025 calendar year is shaping up to be one of his company's strongest, pointing to GTA 6's release "in the fall", as well as Mafia: The Old Country's launch in summer and Borderlands 4's arrival sometime this year.

Zelnick also highlights the launch of Civilization 7, which is set to arrive on February 11th, although some players have already gotten their hands on the game in early access (and have made their thoughts on it abundantly clear).

Take-Two's had a strong quarter overall, pointing to solid continuing sales of flagship titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 (which is now sitting at more than 70 million lifetime sales) and GTA 5 (which has passed an insane 210 million copies sold).

Not only that, but basketball game NBA 2K25 apparently outperformed Take-Two's expectations, racking up seven million sales in the third quarter and seeing an increase in player engagement as well.

In a followup interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Zelnick shares some of his thoughts about Take-Two's current situation in the industry, as well as wider trends like AI and Donald Trump's recently-introduced tariffs.

Zelnick says he thinks "a world without tariffs is a better place", highlighting the ESA's opposition to the tariffs and expressing a "cautiously optimistic" outlook regarding the recent postponement of tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports.

On the subject of AI, Zelnick's views appear somewhat contradictory. On the one hand, he calls artificial intelligence "an oxymoron" and says "machines don't learn", but he also says AI can "help make our business more efficient and help us do better work" (although he's confident it won't lead to unemployment).
