Get ready for more backyard building — Grounded Update 0.9 has arrived and features new curved building pieces, a buildable ladder, multiplayer Photo Mode, and more!
Grounded is a relatively new survival crafting game from Obsidian that places players in a backyard with a tiny twist: you've been shrunk down to the size of bugs! Some ants or a bee aren't too bad when you're normal-sized, but these creatures can be downright fearsome when you're shorter than a blade of grass. Now, the next batch of new content has arrived as reported on Reddit — we're one step closer to version 1.0!
What's New in Grounded Update 0.9?
The first major addition in Grounded Update 0.9 is curved building pieces. While many of you surely like the rough edges of right angles, some of us might prefer a smoother design for our buildings. The following new pieces are added in this update:
- 3 Curved Grass Walls
- 2 Curved Grass Floors
- 3 Curved Stem Walls
- 2 Curved Stem Floors
- 2 Curved Railings
These new building pieces are unlocked with the Pond BURG.L chip. Additionally, players can soar to even greater heights in a new way: using the Hedge BURG.L Chip will unlock a new ladder to give you some more options for getting to other floors. On the same subject of building, Creative Mode is also getting a bit of a buff — you can now opt to have bugs hanging around while Creative Mode is active. Fortunately, these Creative Mode bugs will be docile to players.
Multiplayer mode is also getting a somewhat unusual buff: you can now take stylish pictures with your friends! Grounded Update 0.9 adds multiplayer Photo Mode, which allows each player to control their pose and location in the picture. Naturally, the game pauses when you enter Photo Mode — it'd certainly be a downer to get chomped to pieces by enemies while you're trying to take a picture!
These are just some of the new goodies arriving in this latest update; you can read about all of the changes in the full Grounded Update 0.9 patch notes and you can check out the latest developer vlog to see some of these new features in action.. If you haven't yet jumped into this great survival crafting game, you can buy Grounded for PC and consoles via its official website for just $29.99 or your regional equivalent.
