Grounded Update 0.2.0 has arrived for Obsidian's newest Early Access game, debuting a new Perks system, more crafting recipes, scarier spiders, and a bunch more content for players to enjoy!

If you haven't yet played Grounded, you're missing out on a truly unique survival game. Survival games are a dime a dozen these days and it takes something unique for them to stand out, and that's exactly what Obsidian has done here. Players are shrunk down to the size of bugs and plopped down into a backyard with one mission: survive!

Check out the Grounded Update 0.2.0 Developer Vlog to see some of this new content in motion!

Grounded has been out for around a month now and players have been having a good bit of fun with this new game so far. Unfortunately, it's not quite a finished game; as with many survival sandbox titles, Grounded has made its debut in Early Access.

The difference here is that Grounded is backed by a pretty big publisher: Xbox Game Studios. Working together with Obsidian Entertainment, the developers have a ton of new content planned for the future and we've just gotten a new batch of things to do in the game!

What's New in the Grounded 0.2.0 Update?

The first major addition to the game is a "Perks" system. Players will be able to select up to three perks (out of a total of 13) to mutate their character and give them an edge in trying to survive the terrors of the backyard.

Also arriving today are some new BURG.L quests. "Artificer" quests will require players to craft certain items and "Chipsleuth" quests will have you trying to locate BURG.L chips. On the crafting front, new fence and table buildings have also been added to the game.

The last big item of note has to do with spiders: they're going to be much tougher for players to take down. They'll still have their basic bite, of course, but they'll also be making use of a new set of deadly attacks to terrorize the pint-sized players.

These are just some of the new things added in the game today; you can read about all of the new features and changes in the Grounded 0.2.0 Update patch notes. If you haven't already picked up this unique survival sandbox game, you can buy Grounded on PC via Steam or on PC and Xbox One via the Microsoft Store for $29.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think of the new content added in the Grounded 0.2.0 Update? What do you hope we'll see in future updates? Let us know in the comments below!
