Obsidian Entertainment has launched Grounded Update 0.10.1 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in order to fix a number of issues with the new "pets" feature that was recently added to the game.

Grounded is an open-world survival crafting game created by Obsidian Entertainment. You need to stand out to do well in the genre, and this game manages that with a delightful twist: all of the players have been shrunk down to the size of bugs and have to survive in a backyard filled with dangerous critters and wonderful mysteries. Now, an update has arrived to fix some problems with pets!

What's New in Grounded Update 0.10.1?

Grounded Update 0.10.1 is largely a bugfix patch that makes some small changes. While a number of issues were addressed, a key focus of this patch is on fixing the new pets system.

Previously, pets had an issue with wandering away after a player got out of range or died. Losing your pet is certainly a worry, and that's why several changes have been made to their behavior in this update.

Going forward, pets will follow a player more closely when active. Should your pet get scared, it will flee towards you rather than running around in random directions. Should you die, your pet will return to its pet house — and pets will no longer wander away from their pet house, either. Obsidian has also fixed a troublesome bug where pets will remain as active followers after they've already died.

A number of other fixes and changes have arrived in this patch, including the ability to delete save games being restored on Windows 10 and Xbox; you can read about all of the changes in the full Grounded Update 0.10.1 patch notes. If you haven't yet jumped into the terrifying world of your backyard, you can buy the Early Access version of Grounded on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for $29.99 or your regional equivalent.
