The video game Grounded will be getting its very own animated series. Picture the movie A Bugs Life mixed with Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and you get a phenomenal game called Grounded. Brent Friedman, writer of Star Wars: Clone Wars, will be the one adapting the new series, and he is no stranger to video game adaptations.

Brent Friedman is known for more than just Clone Wars, as he has also written credits for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Tales From the Borderlands. His knowledge and expertise in video game adaptations will create a sight to behold once this series is released. The series is based upon the video game world in Grounded, where players follow the story of four young teens that have been shrunk down to the size of grub during a freak accident. The teens will venture through their backyard, tiny and defenseless, until they have built an arsenal of weapons to take on the menacing bugs that lurk within the grass

The Grounded animated series (which was revealed by Deadline) may be similar to the game, as it also follows four teens who have been shrunk down to the size of grubs. Though it hasn't been announced whether or not it will be the same cast of characters or how similar the adaptation will be to the game, the show also teases some form of conspiracy that threatens the entirety of their town.

The CEO of Bardel Entertainment made a statement regarding the animated series announcement, stating,

"We couldn’t be more excited about diving into the whimsical universe of Grounded. This partnership will be one of great collaboration, expanding on an already wonderful journey of exploration and adventure,"

While there haven't been too many details released regarding the animated series, one can only assume it might be a smash hit. The video game Grounded was initially released in July 2020 and has skyrocketed in terms of players, as it has reached around ten million to date. Since its release, the game has gotten several new updates and features and will leave early access in September of 2022. The full launch will come with a buffet of new features and more added to the story mode.
