The Grim Dawn Update 1.1.8 has released, as developer Crate Entertainment has added onto the ARPG spiritual successor to Diablo 2

This new Grim Dawn 1.1.8 patch has added new regions to the world of Cairn, as areas that were previously unexplorable can now be visited. New areas need new foes, and there are a bunch of new Monsters, including minibosses. They come with new treasures, including 7 new infrequent (rare) items, and three new legendary weapons that you will have to find throughout the world.

Celestial Monster Totems are a new sort of challenge available in Cairn, that will provide a new set of monsters to battle for loot and experience. This is a new variation of Monster Totem, the sixth in the game and when challenging it Celestial come to battle.

Two foes have also been granted unique loot drops. Namadea, the Wendigo Ancient beneath Barrowholm, now has two infrequent drops unique to her, rather then dropping from the general Wendigo pool. Note: you don't need the Forgotten Gods expansion to get this. The other one is Anasteria, who has added two new unique infrequents in addition to her legendary helmet as a drop.

Beyond that the Grim Dawn update 1.1.8 has a large amount of balance changes to various locations, skills, items (of various rarities), and classes. You can read all of the Grim Dawn 1.1.8 patch notes here on Steam if you want to learn more.

This Grim Dawn update was previously discussed earlier in the year with the Grim Misadventures blog post from August, which gave us the picture above of the Celestial Monster Totem, and revealed that there are at least 5 new side areas in the new update. There is no firm number right now on how many there are, but that gives the floor.
