A host of new content is on its way to Codemasters' racing sim GRID. Season 1 is coming on December 4th and is bringing with it an event Codemasters is calling the Hot Hatch Showdown. It'll add new cars, new career events, and a new circuit to the game. If you own the Ultimate Edition, you'll get access to exclusive content. Here's a rundown of what you can expect from Season 1.
GRID Season 1 - New Cars
Four brand new cars are on their way to GRID in the Hot Hatch Showdown. As you might expect, they're all legendary hatchback vehicles. If you own the GRID Ultimate Edition, you'll get access to the Mini Hatch JCW, the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Super Hatch, the Renault S1600, and the Audi S1 Quattro Concept. You can use these cars in any race scenario across Career, Multiplayer, and Free Play. If you don't have the Ultimate Edition, you'll be able to drive the Renault Clio in Free Play and Multiplayer as a loan car.
GRID Season 1 - New Career Events
Again, the new Career events are only accessible to you if you've got the Ultimate Edition. Head over to the Career menu and switch to a new tab to find two new Career threads, one of which will use the new Season 1 cars above. By completing the new race objectives, you'll make progress through the threads and gain access to two new Showdown events. If you win those, a new Ravenwest challenge is waiting for you.
GRID Season 1 - New Circuit
Lastly, there's a new circuit coming to GRID. Unlike the new cars and career events, you can access this new circuit even if you don't have the Ultimate Edition. Series favorite Paris makes a return to GRID, giving you the opportunity to race around the Arc de Triomphe and beneath the Eiffel Tower. There are three different routes on this course, each with a reverse option, and you'll be able to race at different times of the day and with different weather conditions applied.
GRID is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
