If you're one of those people who hasn't played the rather excellent Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories back when it first saw the light of day on the PSP back in 2005, you can now play the entire game on certain iOS devices

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories takes place in the 3D era version of Liberty City and has already seem releases on several other platforms like the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3, but this marks the first release on Apple's devices. What framerate you'll have depends on the type of device you're using. iPhone 5/5s users will be able to run the game at 30 frames per second, while iPhone 6/6s and iPad Pro users will be able to play the game at60 frames per second.

This version of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories also has custom soundtrack support, cross-platform saves courtesy of the Rockstar Social Club and the capability to play the game with a physical controller if the idea of playing a touchscreen-based GTA doesn't sound like a good idea to you and you don't like the tweaked controls designed to make playing the game on a touchscreen device easier to handle. The iOS version also got a significant graphical makeover, with the game having an updated engine that supports real-time shadows and lighting, improved draw distance and high-resolution textures.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories was released to critical and public acclaim, with critics praising the game's story and visuals that were quite impressive for Sony's PSP handheld. The game is available now on the Apple app store, and will cost you a decent $7. An Android version is also in the works, but there is no info as to when Android users can get their hands on this remastered version. This is not the first Grand Theft Auto game to make its mobile debut. Rockstar already released iOS versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Updated versions of the 3D era games have also been released on Steam with sometimes less than optimal results.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
