Granblue Fantasy and Uma Musume Pretty Derby developer Cygames has announced that it's set up two new branches outside of its native Japan. The two new offices are intended to promote and market Cygames properties in other territories, which could mean more translations and projects making their way over from Japan.

In a press release, Cygames announces the formation of Cygames America and Cygames Europe. The former has been established in the US, while the latter calls the UK its home. This, according to the Granblue developer, is part of an "ongoing push to promote and market [Cygames] titles in North America and Europe", which, as the studio points out, make up around half of the global gaming market between them.

The establishment of these two new studios follows on from the creation of the Global Business Development team in 2016, which happened after the successful launch of 2016's card battler Shadowverse. Branches in Taiwan and Korea were also set up at that time, so the establishment of the US and UK branches is part of that expansion.

Cygames' most famous export is probably Granblue Fantasy, although the studio has created many other IPs too.

According to the aforementioned press release, Cygames America will have starting capital of $700,000 and will primarily be responsible for "marketing and licensing". The British branch, meanwhile, will have around £500,000 starting capital and will also be responsible for marketing and licensing. These aren't development studios, but they could mean that American and British gamers see more Cygames titles in future.

Cygames was established back in 2011, and it's primarily known for mobile games like Granblue Fantasy and Uma Musume Pretty Derby. The studio has branched out into console and PC gaming, though, with games like Little Noah: Scion of Paradise and Granblue Fantasy: Versus making the leap to PC and consoles. We'll have to wait and see what these two new studios mean for gamers, but hopefully, more Cygames properties will be making the jump overseas now.
