Gotham Knights devs have announced a new update that packs quite the punch for the players. Two new multiplayer modes have been added to the game; Heroic Assault and Showdown.
Both of these game modes are available now, and they seem to add a bit more fun and stress to the game (as if that was needed in the first place). Heroic Assault mode seems like it could be extremely fun and teeming with heart-pumping action, as it allows four players to clear floors below Gotham City one by one. Each of the 30 floors becomes harder and harder as players make their way to the final floor. As we saw in the latest reveal trailer, there is a new threat that looms named Starro, the Conqueror, and he is who will be waiting for players on that final floor. It is unknown at this time what Starro's mechanics might be, but one can assume it will be a fight to remember.
The second mode being added is called Showdown, where two players must confront "supercharged versions" of the game's main DC bad guys, including Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Mr. Freeze. These fights will be tough, but they come with a bounty like no other; new legendary gear blueprints and both unique suit and Batcycle colorways for players to choose from.
Both of these modes are standalone modes in-game, but each of the new modes do have prerequisites in order to unlock them. Heroic Assault will only be available to players who have reached case file 05 in the game's campaign. Showdown mode will unlock once players have defeated each boss in the main villain case file. These prerequisites are not too bad to complete, so those who have played since the release might have it unlocked already. If you would like to learn more about the game modes and updates, the devs have set up a FAQ page that can guide players in the right direction.
