We finally have a Gotham Knight release date, which we've been waiting for since its reveal all the way back in August 2020 for the DC FanDome event.
When is the Gotham Knights Release Date?
Players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will be able to hop into Gotham City on October 25, 2022. For those who aren't in the know, Gotham Knights starts off with Batman dead and the criminal underworld of Gotham City sweeping over its streets. To combat this threat, the Batman Family in Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin must unite to restore order and bring hope to its citizens.
As an Action-RPG, Gotham Knight is playable solo or in two-player online co-op, with the second player able to drop in and out at any given time. As one would expect in an RPG, players will be able to level up, but their enemies will also level up as the Batman Family family sorts through Gotham's five distinct boroughs.
While this all sounds well and good, it does suck that players won't be able to feel all-powerful. It's an RPG, so you're supposed to feel more powerful over time, but you can't become too powerful because your enemies will level up with you despite not deserving it. It makes sense in theory, but in practice what ends up happening is you're this super dangerous superhero that can still have their skull cracked by a random one-note thug, which after 20 to 40 hours begins to lose some of its charm when you're level 50 and they should be level 5, if they use level scaling.
