Google Play Pass Has Launched (in the U.S.)

Today, Google shocked the world by officially announcing their much-awaited Google Play Pass with little in the way of promotion or buzz.

The Google Play Pass is a subscription that will give users access to 350 apps and games--which are all completely unlocked. This means that they are ad-free, and do not have in-app purchases or upfront payments. Basically, once you have the app, it is yours for the duration of your subscription.

Google Play Pass will arrive in the U.S. this week, with a $4.99 subscription per month or $1.99 per month for the first year, with the subscription then reverting to the regular price of $4.99 per month thereafter. On it's release Maria Sayans, CEO of Ustwo games had the following statement to share.

Play Pass helps encourage people to try new experiences they would not have otherwise

For those interested in what the Pass has to offer, users will be able to download Terraria, Risk, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, AccuWeather, Monument Valley, Lichtspeer, Mini Metro, Old Man's Journey, and LIMBO. Other games coming later include This War of Mine and Cytus.

For those wanting a full list, Google has added a Play Pass tab in the Play Store for those who have subscribed. All of the apps and games that are included in the Pass will be listed there. This also includes the Google Play Family Library, with up to five family members able to share a single Play Pass subscription.

Currently, Google Play Pass is only available in the U.S. Users will need to have a Play Store version of 16.6.25 and above, along with an Android version of 4.4 or higher. If you would like more information about the Play Pass, be sure to go here.
